Jurasic Park

Jurassic Park from 1993 brought the Dinosaurs back life in cinemas all around the world. The science fiction adventure was directed by superstar diretor Steven Spielberg and base on the "Jurassic Park-novel by Michael Crichton. The movie became one of the most succesfull in th history of box office earning more than 900 million with original and surpassing 1 BILLION in earnings when the 20th anniversary 3D release in 2013.

The story

The plot in the movie is a Billionair has made park with dinosaurs on a desserted island off shore USA. A new technic makes it possible to take use DNA from musquitoes which have sucked blood from dinosaurs and then got trapped in resin. But as the the billionair has invited grandchildren and palaeontologists to see the park something goes wrong and the dinosaurs comes out of thier cages. Inculding the T-rex og the raptors.

The special effects

To bring the dinosaurs alive. Spielberg used livesize animatronic dinasours and computer generated imagery (CGI) like in Terminator 2 in 1991. The speciel effects in Jurassic Park won a lot of praise from critics. In 1994 it won an Oscar for best vissual effects and best sound, which both were major contributions to bring the Dinosaurs back to life.
