Destinys Child - The Writing´s on the Wall

In 1999 american R&B girlgroupe Destiny´s Child realesed their second studioalbum "The Writing´s on the Wall". The followup to self-title debut album from 1998. The first album only produced one hit single "No no no" produced by former Fugees rapper Wyclef Jean.

After the brief succes of "No no no", Destinys Child looked for more on their second album and teamed up with among others Missy Elliot to produce the record. The groupe members also toke bigger part in the creativs proces of writing and produceing them selfes.

The singles

First single from "The Writing´s on the Wall" was "Bills bills bills". It reached number 22 on Billboards Year-End Chart of 1999

"Bills bills bills" was followed up by single "Bug A Boo"

Third single was "Say my name", realesed in december 1999. The video for Say my name was somewhat controversial as it featured 2 new members replacing, LaToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson. Neither Roberson or Luckett had apparently left the groupe but was dismissed due to them beeing unhappy with the manager whome they felt were favouring the other members Kelly Rowland and Beyonce Knowels.

Fourth and final single to come out of "The writing´s on the wall" was the danceable "Jumpin Jumpin" realesed july 2000. "Jumpin Jumpin is featured on our Party like it is 99 - spotify playlist.

The breakthrough.

If "No no no no" were Destiny´s Child small breakthrough single "The writing´s on the wall" were the breakthrough album and all 4 singles became big hits for the groupe. The raise to stardom for Destiny´s Child and especially for Beyonce Knowells had begun.
