The story short

It is the year 1923 and Richard “Rick” O'Connell, an American explorer, has discovered Hamunaptra, the city of the dead. Three years later, O'Connell returns to the site with a beautiful librarian, Evelyn "Evy" Carnahan and her brother, Jonathan. When Evy accidentally revives the mummified corpse of an Egyptian priest, Imhotep, the pair must find a way to kill him before he rises back into power and destroys the world.

The main caracters facing the mummy

The Mummy is rather scarry at times but it is softened by the comic blend, like in this scene where the caracter Benny meets the mummy in a dungeon.

The special effects

The crew behind the scenes in "The Mummy" used alot of CGI, to make the whole movie and the healing of the mummy as realistic as possible. It is said Industrial Light and Magic used around 15 million on the special effects in "Mummy".
